Beta Baby!

First of all – just wanted to give a huge shout out to Dave Byrnes, he's the one who turned me on to the new LinkedIn Company Page layout.

They are still in beta testing - in fact, I think the only company to have one of the new company pages is LinkedIn!

Check out the video below or click here:  https://youtu.be/L2zf0icb1wI

Comparing the Old Page

Just to compare, the old LinkedIn company page, (what we have right now) has a:

  • 600 by 220 header image
  • Company description
  • Updates
  • How you're connected on the right-hand side of the page
  • Your showcase pages on the right
  • Homepage tab at the top
  • Career Page tab at the top
  • Notifications at the top
  • Analytics at the top
  • And if you have a paid account, your premium insights.

 New Page Features

Banner

The new Company Page is pretty cool.  The great big banner image is visually arresting.  In fact – it's very similar to the new Publisher interface.

You also get a mini version of the banner which is actually more rectangular – and I think a better size – closer to the original 660 x 220.  The bigger image (seems) to be 1850 by 200.

Employees and Followers

The page appears to be more Jobs focused than content focused.  You can follow the page and see the employees both in the top section and down towards the middle of the new page.

Overview and Updates

If you click on the overview box, it scrolls down to the Overview section (right beneath.) It’s very similar to the old overview – with the description and other company information. I like that it also has your most recent update  - and when you click on "see more" it takes you down to your updates at the bottom which are very Pinterest-y looking...

LinkedIn really seems to be focusing on the visuals in this section - which is a good thing.

Jobs

The Jobs section gets its own tab as it did before, but it stands out a little bit more. I like the nice tile-like layout.

Culture

I love the “Discover Our Culture” section.  I have no idea if we're going to get access to it or not as regular users - my guess is this Culture piece is going to be part of the Premium Career package.  But wouldn't it be cool if we all got it?

The new feature is almost like a little website in and of itself.  They've got the company photos, company perspectives, company info and more.

In Conclusion

I really like the more modern look.  I think my main criticism is that I would like more focus on the Updates – make them a little higher.  Maybe those of use who don’t have a Culture or a Jobs tile will get an Updates tile.

SO all in all – nicely done LinkedIn!  If you want to give it a little tour on your own, you can check it out here: https://www.linkedin.com/company-beta/1337?pathWildcard=1337

As far as I know, it's not available to anyone else right now, but let's keep an eye out and let me know as soon as you get it!
