There is no easy seamless way of merging multiple LinkedIn accounts. You will lose the recommendations on the "merging" account.
I highly recommend making a copy of the merging (second) account. You can save it as a PDF - or I actually recommend clicking on select all and copying it into a word document.
You will also want to export your connections on the contacts page just in case. That way - worst case - you can re-invite folks (remember the 3000 invite limit) and also ask folks for recommendations again.
So - you will want to write LinkedIn at [email protected]
Have the email address of the "good" account you want and the email address of the second or merging account.
Tell LinkedIn you want to merge the two accounts and make sure they know which one you want to be primary.
After the accounts are merged you will have to go in and delete any duplication. There will be some.
So not seamless - but the only way to do it right now.
BTW - don't let anyone tell you they can't do it. They've already merged about 20 of my clients' accounts!
