What to do now that we are losing LinkedIn’s CRM features (Saved and Advanced Search, Tagging and Notes)

By: Viveka Wednesday January 18, 2017 comments Tags: LinkedIn, LinkedIn Tags, Nimble, Dux-Soup, LinkedIn Expert, LinkedIn Tips

You have probably heard rumors about all the changes being made to LinkedIn in the next few months. (If not, read this article). One of the biggest changes is that we are losing the Advanced search as well as saved searches, tagging and note-taking. All CRM aspects of the FREE LinkedIn service are going away. Which is a HUGE bummer for people who have been actively prospecting using these tools with their free LinkedIn accounts. The solution within LinkedIn is to upgrade to Sales Navigator (which I personally love,) but at $79 a month, that is going to be outside of most peoples wheelhouse! Another solution is to use the Chrome Extension Dux-Soup which has both free and paid version and works to create Tags and Notes for your prospects on LinkedIn (when using Chrome.) ... Read More

How to Tag Your High Quality Leads On LinkedIn

By: Viveka Tuesday December 6, 2016 comments Tags: LinkedIn, LinkedIn Tags, LinkedIn Tips

What is LinkedIn Tagging? LinkedIn Tagging is a way for you to segment and organize your connections on LinkedIn.It is similar to Facebook and Twitter Lists (except your connections cant see how you tagged them.) And for a short while longer, will be available to all users.(Rumor has it that the new interface gets rid of tagging with the free account L) Why Tagging is Important The reason tagging is so important is because it allows you to keep in touch and share relevant information with target groups of individuals.Lets say you write a new Publisher Post on Best Networking Events for Lawyers in NYC.Obviously you would not message your whole network with that post, but you might let your top 22 NYC Lawyer Prospects know about the post on LinkedIn!Without tagging it would be... LinkedIn’s Saved Search and Why You MUST Start Using It

By: Viveka Tuesday July 19, 2016 comments Tags: Viveka von Rosen, LinkedIn Expert, LinkedIn Tips, LinkedIn Searches, Saved Searches

Recently, Hilda (one of my tribe) asked, "How do you save a search exactly?" I realized I didn't have a very good description anywhere on YouTube or on my blog. However, before we talk about how to save a search, let's talk about why you want to save a search. The reason why is because when you save a search on LinkedIn, LinkedIn will actually send you a weekly, updated list of new people who fall into that particular search algorithm. If you are searching for prospects, LinkedIns Saves Search will send you leads. Whether you're looking for donors for your non-profit, or you're looking for candidates for your business, or you're looking for new clients because you're a consultant or a contractor, you work in sales and marketing, or you're looking for... What LinkedIn Myths are Effecting Your Success

Myth: If I build it, they will come. Truth: Even if you have an All Star Profile on LinkedIn, it does not necessarily mean that you will convert profile views into conversations. Not only does your profile need to be focused on your key markets, (and their needs, fears and desires,) but you have to make it easy for your high quality leads to contact (not just connect) with you. LinkedIn Strategy 1: Put your phone number and/or email on your background image. Use a Google Voice number and an email address unique to LinkedIn so that you can easily track where your prospects are coming from.L inkedIn Strategy 2: Use a calendar tool like TimeTrade or Calendly.com to create a unique calendar link in your Summary section and websites section that... Professional Headline

By: Viveka Friday May 20, 2016 comments Tags: Viveka von Rosen, LinkedIn headline, LinkedIn profile, LinkedIn Tips

Your professional headline, the area just underneath your name, is a short (120 character) description of who you are and what you do. Most people will just have their title at company, but they dont actually take the time to describe who they are and what they do. The 120 character limit is not a lot, it is about the length of a sentence; however, it is far better than just writing your title and company, especially if your company name doesnt fully describe what your company does. So, use the professional headline. It is a great place to put a tagline and, if they fit, use some of your most important key words. The other thing to know about your professional headline is that most of your communication on LinkedIn, whether you are responding to a group message or sending a message or... Read More

Keywords are Key to being Found

By: Viveka Saturday April 30, 2016 comments Tags: Viveka von Rosen, LinkedIn profiles, LinkedIn keywords, LinkedIn Tips

LinkedIn is similar to Google in that if you have the right keywords in the right places you are much more likely to be found in a search. It is actually easier than Google. Many may already know what their keywords are, but on LinkedIn make sure to keep it simple! When people are looking for you, or someone like you, they may be looking for a social media strategist or a social media marketer. They may be looking for an accountant, but they are not going to search forensics wizard. The simpler and straight-forward your keywords are, the more easily people will be able to find you. That is the goal after all. Where do you look if you dont know what key words to use? Great question. One of the best places to find keywords is actually on the profiles of other LinkedIn users in your... Read More

LinkedIn Search Tip: Your Connections’ Connections

Searching Your Connections' Connections! My friend Bob Burg says All things being equal, people do business with people they know, like and trust. So this gives you the opportunity to search people you know, like and trust and see the people that they know, like and trust. To do this, all you have to do this is find someone you know, like and trust on LinkedIn and then click on the number of connection (if it's in blue) in their bio section. (If its black, this wont work.) The blue number link will take you down into their profile into their connections section. Click on the little magnifying glass and expand it into a search box. Now all you have to do is search on a keyword or title to see who they know. What I love about the connections connection search is when you find... Read More

LinkedIn Tools Series: eGrabber Email Prospector

By: Viveka Friday April 1, 2016 comments Tags: Viveka von Rosen, LinkedIn Prospecting, eGrabber, LinkedIn Tips

eGrabber To get the email address, phone number, and other contact and company information for a prospect, I use a tool called Email Prospector by eGrabber. This tool is awesome because it essentially fills in the holes of information that you have on your prospects. You may have a name and company but no email address. Or you know their company and title but cannot remember their name. Simply put in all the information that you know from LinkedIn or other sources, and eGrabber will look for everything else. Through a patent pending search eGrabberis able to scope out Google, Bing, Hoovers, LinkedIn and many other sites out there and pull as much information as it can. The research that you can get from eGrabber is incredibly extensive. It exports into a .CSV... Read More
