What’s The Outcome Of Your Business Day?

You are so busy during your business day, doing so many different things, that you probably never stop to ask or think about the word, outcome. But that’s exactly what you need to do as you go about your business day.

Ask: What is the outcome?

Or you may ask: The outcome of what?

Answer: The outcome of many things.

For example, you have an important appointment with a potential new customer. What outcome do you want from the meeting? More importantly, what outcome does the prospect want? In order to get your desired outcome you need to know what the prospect wants as an outcome.

Another example is: social media strategy. What outcome do you want from posting a particular tweet on Twitter, by liking a certain page on Facebook, the circles you are in on Google+ or the people you link with on LinkedIn? Everything we do leads to an outcome.

But what outcome is that exactly?

Outcome is about understanding where you are and knowing where you want to go. Finding a solution to get you there with products or services. It’s about directly involving other people to achieve the desired outcome such as co-workers, customers, prospects, vendors and other business associates.

In business today, it’s all about results. Such as:

• making a profit,
• being in the envious position of being #1 in your marketplace
• meeting/exceeding business goals or…
• finally succeeding at creating an innovative new product or service after years of research, development and hard work that you know your customers will want.

Results = outcome.

It’s something to think about and be aware of with everything you do each business day no matter how small or how large the issues or events are in your day.

Think permanent results or outcome. Not temporary results or outcome.

Rethink your business day – and your business goals – by thinking about: the outcome.

When you consciously are aware of the outcome you want then you can address the business challenges you face daily and can move forward with greater success.

It will reframe your perspective about how to successfully do business.

Rethink your business day.

All by thinking about one word: outcome.
