Even though I'm on vacation, I wanted you to know about the new Publisher Interface. YouTube Video: Check out the video here: Why Isnt It Working? First of all, know that Publisher doesn't seem to be working on Chrome. At least, it wasn't working on my Chrome. Publisher was there, but none of these features showed up. See image below. Also the main image wouldn't load. But have no fear! Just go to a different browser. It worked for me in Firefox and Safari (although another client had issues with Firefox.) What Publisher Looks Like When It Does Work! When you go to your homepage and click on "Write an article," LinkedIn will take you to the new LinkedIn Publisher. Add your main visual right up top. (Im not sure, but I think the 700 x 400... Read More

LinkedIn is coming up with some pretty cool new tools to help employees with the connection and engagement within their own companies on LinkedIn. A big thank you to Re/Tool Blog for reporting the latest and greatest! Intra Office Communication Tool These new intra-office tools will help employees not only to stay connected, but will encourage the sharing of contact info. It appears to be a CRM system similar to Salesforce, but embedded within LinkedIn. There is no word yet as to what this will cost and if it is in fact just a revamp of the current relationship between LinkedIn and Salesforce through the Sales Navigator tool. You can read more about this new tool here: http://recode.net/2015/01/13/upcoming-linkedin-products-connect-coworkers/ Redesigned Home Page... Read More

LinkedIns New Group Interface LinkedIn has a new group interface that is MUCH easier to use then the old one. To find it simply go to Interests on you main menu bar and then click on Groups (just like you used to) Once there you'll notice a completely different layout. All your groups are listed across the top with stylish square icons. (To see them all you just click on view more.) You can also see (by a small number on the top right of each image) how many discussions are going on in your groups. And you can post a discussion to a group of your choice right from this page as well. Just add your title, description, pick you group and decide if its a discussion, promotion or job. You can only post to one group at a time. The most popular discussions in your groups... Read More

LinkedIn Publisher is here! LinkedIn Publishing - originally available only to LinkedIn Influencers is here (or soon will be) for the general public! I just got access today and wanted to share it with you ASAP . Here's a Short Video on how to use it: For those of you who read - here's how to do it: 1. You know you have LinkedIn Publisher when you have the little pen in your updates field. (Or you get the email telling you you now have it! 2. Create some new content- I recommend doing it in a word doc first to catch spelling errors - but don't add formatting, you can do that on LinkedIn Publisher 3. Paste into Publisher and add formatting, hyperlinks, images, bullets, etc. 4. Save it 5. PREVIEW IT (you'd be suprised the glitches that pop up!) 6. Post it... Read More

LinkedIn Resources First let me state that I make huge fan of LinkedIn contacts. I highly recommend getting on the waiting list if you don't have it yet. That being said I have found 4 downsides to this new awesome feature. The first is that the only alphabetical listing is by first name only. Where is the old contacts screen listed people by last name which makes more sense to me. I am sure that this will soon be rectified. Since this came from the connected CRM system that alphabetically lists people by first name, I think it's just an oversight. I hope. The second one is a little bit more concerning. Again I think it's just an oversight or a glitch in the system from connected and CardMunch. You used to be able to tag your connections which you still can but you... Read More

Did you know LinkedIn had a help forum? I was chatting with my new LinkedIn friend Huub Ritzema about LinkedIn's help feature, and he reminded me about their "new" Help forum. Just in case you haven't checked it out yet, it's worth the gander. If you click on "Help Center" at the very very bottom of your profile on the left-hand side, it will take you to LinkedIn's Help Center. (The Help Center is also featured in the new UI). Once you're in the Help Center you can click on Help Forum. From this help forum, you can search questions that have already been asked and answered, or even start your own discussion. So this is nothing like LinkedIn Answers where you could ask questions about anything business related. But at least you can ask questions to the forum... Read More

LinkedIn's Latest User Interface Changes Well, LinkedIn's done it again. Made a whole bunch of changes to its user interface. To be fair - most of the changes are on the menu bar. But they are big changes! I have a video below that walks you through step-by-step. It was done on the fly and with my client's profile (and permission), but it'll tell you what you need to know if you to have the new user interface on LinkedIn. Video of LinkedIn's New Changes Homepage Tab The homepage is pretty much the same. Except now instead of the full LinkedIn logo, it's just the blue LinkedIn logo. But it takes you to the same place. Profile Tab Under 'Profile' you'll notice we've lost the drop down box. Meaning you have to edit and view your profile from the... Read More

LinkedIn InMail Attached Documents - This Could Be a Game Changer I just noticed when responding to an InMail today, that I could attach a document to my message. This might not seem like a big deal, but I really think it's a game changer on LinkedIn. Right now its's only available for InMails (and as far as I can tell, only available when you reply to an InMail) so if you've been considering upgrading your account, now might be the time! I checked messages - alas - its not available for a simple message. Just off the top of my head, here are some ways you can use it: A PDF of your brochure A PowerPoint presentation of your company product or service A white paper The chapter of your book A questionnaire The PDF of your artist...
