LinkedIn is coming up with some pretty cool new tools to help employees with the connection and engagement within their own companies on LinkedIn. A big thank you to Re/Tool Blog for reporting the latest and greatest! Intra Office Communication Tool These new intra-office tools will help employees not only to stay connected, but will encourage the sharing of contact info. It appears to be a CRM system similar to Salesforce, but embedded within LinkedIn. There is no word yet as to what this will cost and if it is in fact just a revamp of the current relationship between LinkedIn and Salesforce through the Sales Navigator tool. You can read more about this new tool here: http://recode.net/2015/01/13/upcoming-linkedin-products-connect-coworkers/ Redesigned Home Page... Read More

LinkedIn Tips for Realtors I always say you are not going to sell your stuff in your case you are not going to sell a house on LinkedIn. But dont get up to leave! What you can do on LinkedIn is create relationships with people that will bring you top of mind when they hear of someone who is moving and need a local Realtor who can help them. Or maybe they hear of someone who decides they want to invest in a luxury market but dont know where to begin. But then your post, or message or interaction with them springs to mind and they forward your profile on to the prospect. Or maybe they themselves decide to invest in a particular area and they know that is your area of expertise. If you use LinkedIn correctly, then you will spring top of mind and get the referral or sale. ... Read More

LinkedIn Contacts Lets chat a little bit more about why I think LinkedIn Contacts are a BIG DEAL! Personal Assistant LinkedIn is making a big deal about the personal assistant aspect of contacts and you know what, I think theyre right. I have hired Virtual Assistants to do less for me, and the intelligence behind the new contacts app is a time saver. The conglomeration of all your contacts, calendars, and even communications in one place is ingenious. Now if they could just add a scheduler and an updater like HootSuite Id be the happiest girl in the world. I love the ability to take notes on my connections, make a note about where I met the person, but more importantly schedule reminders. (I would love it if the reminder feature linked with my calendar and allowed me... Read More

There is no easy seamless way of merging multiple LinkedIn accounts. You will lose the recommendations on the "merging" account. I highly recommend making a copy of the merging (second) account. You can save it as a PDF - or I actually recommend clicking on select all and copying it into a word document. You will also want to export your connections on the contacts page just in case. That way - worst case - you can re-invite folks (remember the 3000 invite limit) and also ask folks for recommendations again. So - you will want to write LinkedIn at [email protected] Have the email address of the "good" account you want and the email address of the second or merging account. Tell LinkedIn you want to merge the two accounts and make sure they know which one you want to... Read More

Did you know LinkedIn had a help forum? I was chatting with my new LinkedIn friend Huub Ritzema about LinkedIn's help feature, and he reminded me about their "new" Help forum. Just in case you haven't checked it out yet, it's worth the gander. If you click on "Help Center" at the very very bottom of your profile on the left-hand side, it will take you to LinkedIn's Help Center. (The Help Center is also featured in the new UI). Once you're in the Help Center you can click on Help Forum. From this help forum, you can search questions that have already been asked and answered, or even start your own discussion. So this is nothing like LinkedIn Answers where you could ask questions about anything business related. But at least you can ask questions to the forum... Read More
